Whether used alone or in combination with a Morbark whole tree chipper to create a total fiber utilization system, the 2455 Stand-Alone Flail is built for maximized output. With three top feed rollers mounted on yoke assemblies, two stationary bottom feed rollers, and a bark discharge conveyor that folds for transport, this machine has many features perfect for whole tree chipping. The enclosed weatherized operator’s cab and color-tinted safety glass helps protect the operator.
Spreader Infeed - This unique infeed system spreads multiple stems apart, which assists with more complete bark removal.
Hydrostatic Controls - Flail drive is a closed loop hydraulic design with separate hydraulic systems to operate each flail drum. Each system is complete with electric tach and controls in operator’s cab.
Optional Cab & Loader - The enclosed operator’s cab includes six-way adjustable seat, joystick controls, combination air conditioner/heater and emergency shut-down system.
Optional Grapple - Mor-Lift Model 500 Knuckleboom Loader has 23′ reach, 270-degree swing and 17,200 lb. lift at 10′. Mor-Lift Model 1000 and foot pedal swing for loader also available.
Heavy-duty spreader feed system with 24” x 55” (60.96 cm x 139.7 cm) infeed opening, consisting of three top feed rolls with synchronized feed rates, mounted on yoke assemblies. The center yoke assembly contains the top flail drum, which hydraulically raises for various diameter wood. Pinch points are 85” (215.9 cm) from the back yoke wheel to the center yoke wheel and 85” (215.9 cm) from center to the front yoke wheel. There are two stationary hydraulically driven bottom feed rolls and a 40” wide x 8” (101.6 cm x 2.44 m) long outfeed conveyor.
Discharge system consisting of 72” wide x 23” (1.83 m x 7.01 m) long telescoping drag chain conveyor with hydraulic drive. Debris is bottom discharged into dual 12” (30.48 cm) diameter twig augers.
