The new addition to the G-Series of John Deere excavators is the best of both worlds – it meets the demand for small excavation equipment and the need for large-scale strength. This new option was designed to give contractors more power in the three to four metric ton class without investing in a completely new attachment system.
The 30G compact excavator provides a 22% increase in bucket force and a 16% increase in auxiliary hydraulic flow compared to the earlier 27D model. It also provides an 11% increase in arm force over the 27D and 26G excavators as well as a total reach of 9 feet 2 inches. Compared to the 26G, the new model revs up 17% more in net engine horsepower without the after-treatment.
The 30G can be used with the buckets and other attachments you may already be using for your 27D/26G models. It also comes with familiar G-Series features such as mechanical pattern changers, quick couplers, and proportional auxiliary hydraulics plumbed to the end of the boom.
To simplify maintenance, the 30G uses many of the components already in use on the 35G excavator. Like its cousins in the series, it has a third service door for easy access to side-by-side cooling cores and other daily checkpoints. The fluid and lubrication intervals and sight gauges are extended to further minimize maintenance.
The newest model in the John Deere G Series excavator lineup has a few features that put operator comfort first and foremost. Its cab has been redesigned with heating and air-conditioning. A suspension seat is now standard, and comes with adjustable wrist rests. Foldable travel pedals maximize foot room and provide near-effortless pilot controls.
